One day Little Mouse Deer went to the river.
一天小鼷鹿去到河边。
He was hungry.
他饿了。
He could see leaves and fruit on the other side of the river.
他看到河对岸的树叶和水果。
Now in the river there was a crocodile.
现在河里有一条鳄鱼。
The crocodile was hungry too.
鳄鱼也饿了。
He wanted to eat Little Mouse Deer.
他想要吃掉小鼷鹿。
When crocodile saw Little Mouse Deer he said,
当鳄鱼看到小鼷鹿他说道，
"Do you want to get to the other side of the river?"
“ 你想要去到河的另一边吗?”
I can help you.
我可以帮助你。
Little Mouse Deer did not want Crocodile to help him.
小鼷鹿不想要鳄鱼帮助他。
"Crocodile will not help me," he said to himself.
“鳄鱼不会帮助我，”他对自己说。
" He will eat me."
“他会吃掉我。”
So Little Mouse Deer said,
所以小鼷鹿说，
"The king wants me to count how many crocodiles there are in the river."
“森林之王想让我数一数河里一共有多少鳄鱼。”
" Make a line in the river," said Little Mouse Deer.

" Then I can count how many crocodiles there are."

So all the crocodiles made a line in the river.

Then Little Mouse Deer jumped on the first crocodile.
